Reforest Hosting Impact Reports – January to November 2025

As you probably know already, Reforest Hosting gives a portion of our revenue from each of our services to environmental and sustainable organisations. To date, we’ve supported the planting of over 44,800 trees. More recently, we’ve  been focusing on scaling that impact and supporting where the need is greatest – biodiversity loss in the UK. Here are a some reasons why:

  • England is in the bottom 3% (7th worst) out of 240 countries/territories on the Biodiversity Intactness Index. (Source)
  • Since 1970, the abundance of species studied in the UK has declined by 19% on average. (Source)
  • Almost 1 in 6 species (≈ 16 %) in Great Britain are at risk of being lost. (Source)
  • More than half of UK’s flowering plant species have decreased in their distribution. (Source)

We’re pleased to report that at the beginning of 2025, we donated £115 to Foundation Green Ethiopia to plant trees. This works out at 575 trees.

Over the course of the Spring and Summer, we have sponsored the purchase of 1,060 sqft of land with Project Wildling.

We’ve also been donating to Rodborough Fields Preservation Group, with a total donation of £611.86 over 5 payments. Based on their purchase price and amount of land purchased, that works out at roughly 49p per sqft. This means we have sponsored the purchase of approx 1248 sqft of land there.

We’re excited to see what 2026 brings, with our impact set to double due to some big plans in the works that we’ll be able to announce soon.

Read more about each of these projects and organisations below:

Foundation Green Ethiopia: An organisation dedicated to reforestation, helping people in Ethiopia’s remote and rural areas to take their future into their own hands. They also sustainably enhance the living situation of communities in the isolated regions of Ethiopia. Foundation Green Ethiopia’s work also fights soil erosion and the resulting issues caused by insufficient harvests, including malnutrition, hunger, poverty and dependence on foreign aid.

Project Wildling: With a mission to bring nature back to balance and humans back to nature, Project Wildling gives land back to nature, carefully restoring it and hoping to increase biodiversity on the land.

Rodborough Fields Preservation Group: Working to secure an area of local land, the Rodborough Fields and Fromebank Preservation Group work to preserve the area of natural beauty, as a green space for wildlife and the people of Stroud.
