Breaking News: Are Reforest still planting trees? Reforest partners with ProjectWildling CIC
Reforest Group (home of ReforestHosting and ReforestThe Web – also affectionally known as ‘reforest’) have some very exciting news to share. Typically known for our passion for all things trees, as well as leveraging business as an opportunity to plant as many trees as possible, we have an update to share with you!
What is going on?
As of November 2023 we will be partnering with ProjectWildling CIC, an organisation that was creating to protect land, restore it back to balance and gift it back to nature. Regenerating land for wildlife means carefully restoring natural habitats. As we embrace vibrant biodiversity we can bring the balance of nature back to spaces it’s missing. We’re on a mission to make sure green space counts and protect the vital ecosystems that we’re in danger of losing forever.
Why?
Nearly one in six species are threatened with extinction from Great Britain
UK species have been studied and found to have declined on average by 19% since 1970
Britain has lost 97% of UK wildflower meadows since the second world war
With statistics like this, it’s clear that drastic action is needed! (Sources: here & here)
This change has come about for a number of reasons, but the main reason is that we’ve always vowed to do what we can to make the most impact, and this is the way forwards for us now. We live in a world that is run by capitalists, which sounds obvious coming from a business, but we’re very concerned about the way that things are currently being run and aren’t prepared to wait around for a better tomorrow. We’re going to create it.
The ReforestGroup website will be closing down, but our tree planting and carbon offsetting services will still be available through ReforestHosting. This enables us to cut down on admin and provide a more streamlined service. Please do reach out via email to bethan@reforesttheweb.com if you’d like to resume your subscription. What about the trees?! Don’t worry, we’ll still be planting trees for our services, but we’ll be shifting our focus a bit so we can make as big of an impact as possible. This means sponsoring land with Project Wildling CIC, to gift back to nature.

Educating and inspiring:
Igniting a passion for nature and empowering people to take action towards reversing biodiversity loss is a part of instilling a greater sense of balance back to nature. By creating a vibrant community of nature-connected humans, we aim to educate, inspire and empower people to make a difference.
So, that’s our big news. In summary, our web services will not be changing at all, the ReforestGroup website will be closing but we will still be planting trees and we’re very excited to get our hands dirty and make an even bigger impact, creating a better tomorrow for our planet and all of its inhabitants.
